Obituary
Dr.Yi Ding, a renowned medical specialist of bone tumour, vice team leader of the Chinese anti-cancer association of the professional committee of the sarcoma, pelvic ring tumor group, member of Beijing association of bone and soft-tissue tumor professional committee, professor of Tsinghua University, passed away on October 25, 2014, during the Asia-pacific orthopedic annual meeting in Thailand. He was 48.
Dr. Ding went to Beijing Medical Hospital (now called Peking University Health Science Center) and majored in clinical medicine in 1984. He worked as a doctor in Beijing Ji Shui Tan Hospital since 1990. During the period of 24 year’s working career, he worked hard and was one of the mainstay specialists in the field of musculoskeletal tumors. He treated over 2000 patients and completed over 200 surgeries annually. He attended and hosted lots of national or international academic conferences. He contributed to 8 orthopaedic professional books and published 14 academic papers. He also taught students from Peking University Health Science Center and doctors from different hospitals all over the country. Dr. Yi Ding is the representative of excellent medical staff in our hospital. He contributed his life and energy to the medical and health.
